Zeze & Mercedes is an 2d animated short film. A childlike game started by two friends gradually becomes the reality. With their imaginary threats turning into life-treating risks, the kids have to save themselves as well as their friendship.

The creatures I designed and animated for Z&M represent the children’s imaginary world, with their fascinations, personalities and aspirations. They have all been gathered in Codex Ineptus, a concept book inspired by Codex Seraphinianus. It is full of nonsense and childishly irreverent, and it uses an alphabet that is invented and text that says nothing. My response to the expectations placed upon me to be relevant, informed, engaging and very well prepared for the future. My response to the idea that art can be divided in three practices, and I should belong to one of them. Enjoy!
