‘Astralis’ is a short teaser and series presentation book pitching an animated series.
As a fantasy and adventure story, it draws inspiration from Romanian folklore and folktales. I adopted elements like the perilous but enlightening hero’s journey, fantastical elements like nymphs and personified cosmic elements, as well as architecture from buildings of cultural heritage.
I am introducing characters of queer identity and non- gender stereotypical conventions often found in Romanian folk stories.

the first Lunar Priestess
Sena and her older sister, Nova

synopsis

Sena has lived with her older sister Nova in the citadel, among other Stelar priestesses, her whole life. Though receiving lessons and training from Nova, she struggles to master the types of magic they are gifted with. She decides to leave on a journey and learn from other masters. Nova appoints one of their best sword fighters, Hana, as her protector.
Determined to make it on her own, Sena has to work through the insecurities and learns the 3 types of magic with friends they make on the way: dance (with priest Jia Niu), healing (with Eliza) and defense (with Hana).
On their journey they learn the stories of other priestesses and people, work with or aid them in their struggles and clash with the people seeking to use the Stelar power in corrupt ways.
