Software Upgrade

“Who among us fully recognizes what untapped potentials await discovery in the technologies that have already been developed?”

Software Upgrade represents a design process where no procedure went untouched by some form of 3D technology. I pushed all the available 3D apparatus around me to its limits. “Why should we look back, when what we want is to break down the mysterious doors of the Impossible?” proclaim the Futurists in their Futurist Manifesto, “…Time and Space died yesterday. We already live in the absolute, because we have created eternal, omnipresent speed.”

I use artworks from the Futurists to visually study depictions of dynamism, speed, and power. I then transfer this interpretation to custom, wearable 3D prints and garments with silhouettes that distort the human figure, but not beyond comprehension. I presently find myself in an experimental phase, although not lost – at the end of my studies, but at the beginning of a lifelong investigation into how fashion can be changed if befriended by technology.
