‘‘MEET ME IN THE RESTROOM’ is a collection of paintings, drawings and photography, emerged from memories of the nightlife women’s restroom. In a world where not being a cis man can be quite unsafe, we – non cis men – create places of safety to find solace within each other. In these spaces we can unapologetically be ourselves. The vibe of the women’s restroom of a bar is one that’s very rare and constantly inspires my artistic practice.”
Fascinated by the womb and the bodies that come with, Fela Walvisch exposes personal narratives that often touch upon societal gender related issues – usually by using paint.
