“Unseen” is a 2D hand-drawn animated short about a young girl called Morle, who discovers her ability to turn invisible. In the beginning she can use it to her advantage, but after a while she looses the control over it and becomes unable to get in contact with anyone. Is there anyone who can see her?

This story originated in my research of Selective Mutism, which is an anxiety disorder where a person get such high levels of anxiety in certain situations/environments that they become unable to talk. Most cases appear when a child is entering kindergarten or elementary school and is often overlooked, mistaken for shyness and even misdiagnosed by professionals. If affected people don’t receive proper treatment, some cases of mutism can grow until they don’t even speak to their own family anymore.
