This tool is developed to create a more democratic design process when it comes to public spaces. Due to the shortcomings of the street furniture and its limited design, users are forced to use the public spaces in a different way.

With this tool, the end user and their needs become a larger part of the design process. By placing different objects in the area that will be developed in the future, the user regains control and an interaction is created between environment, user and object. This gives urban planners a better insight into what the end user needs and how a flexible object can respond to the different needs of different residents.

From object to subject consists of 12 different objects that residents can put together according to their needs. In this way, local residents fill in the public space themselves and this gives me, as a designer, the insights to develop the urban plan to a more human focust design.
