BirbBanter is a game concept and 2.5D game environment where you play as a goose trying to overcome their social anxiety. Navigate through this busy town, talk to the feathered inhabitants and collect talking topics. All to gain enough confidence to make it through your job interview!
This environment focused game demo shows of the world of birbbanter. The ideas, process and gameplayconcept are shown in the artbook.
BirbBanter is created by Cynthia Elzing, a game concept artist specialised in environments. During this project I focused my energy in creating an artstyle that shows a busy yet fun town, a wholesome story and a stunning game environment.
In this game environment I mix my love for birds, lookbooks and environments into one island filled to the brim with details.
In BirbBanter you can explore a colorful and summery island and chat with fellow birds. In the full game you interact with the inhabitants via a minigame. As you explore the world you find talking topics which you use in the minigames. Your reward for the minigames is getting confidence.
Throughout your journey you will be hindered by blockades. People with social anxiety can feel watched judged or unwelcome in social places. In the game you need to build your confidence to pass through.
