Rats, rats, rats everywhere, you can’t see them yet they are everywhere, they can see you, smell you, hear you and even feel you. When you walk on the streets during the day and during the night, they will definitely outnumber you. Lurking between our feet, watching our movement for the next treat.

Love to hate me yet you feed me daily 

Please throw your trash on the street 

Make your city filthy

That’s what me and my friends thrive on 

We love your rest over food

Out of date? Too disgusting for you? 

Please let us devour it

This city is not just yours it’s ours too now

Your homes go from the ground to sky 

Where all our eyes can see them

Ours go from ground to further bellow

Where only our pests eyes can see them 

We live together day and night

You feed us breakfast, lunch, dinner 

You hate to think of us 

Yet you have created us

We live and sleep in your body waste 

Piss, shit, vomit and everything else

Please don’t feel ashamed we’re used to it

Just like how you are used to it too 

Maybe it could be an idea 

To give us not just your waste 

But give us some taste of your human life
