How to Propagate a Gardener? aims to help us envision a future in which western society is no longer separate from nature. By turning thoughts into actions, the persona of the Gardener serves as a symbol of interconnectedness, and the research explores how adopting this persona can help us navigate the current climate crisis. By tending the Garden and engaging in practices that acknowledge the agency and vitality of nature, the project aims to challenge the notion of separateness.
In the past few months, we have explored multiple performative ways to Propagate. Together we focused on learning through fertile soil, networking with the Garden through the lens of an artistic practice, and lifelong learning with other (non)human makers.
Through this research, a space is created where the boundaries between culture and nature blur, and where humans can experience a more interconnected and reciprocal relationship with the natural world.
