Jet’s absence is inevitably present. Suddenly, the house has become silent. That which remains: the smell of rosemary, piled-up boxes, a work unfinished
My graduation project stems from a long research into the notion of women’s voices and stories. Researching female voices and the practice of telling your own stories through art, I recorded the daily life around an artist and dear friend Jet for 5 years.
In this work, taking the shape of a film installation and a book, I have turned the lens on myself and this woman, whom I lived with.
While finishing her last textile work together, she disappears. Faced with this new reality, I keep recording the life in the house, making an attempt to still tell our story.
But how do you capture a disappearance?
