Moirologies for Mneme

Moirologies for mneme is a videopoetry work delving out of a collection of speculative non-fiction texts. Dwelling between dream and wake, online and offline, real and surreal.

The texts have been extracted from memories, visions and dreams. Questioning the day-to-day reality and compiling a body of non-fictional empirical knowledge. Moirologies [from Ancient Greek (moîra, “fate”) + (lógos, “speech, oration”)] is a genre of songs composed in the Mediterranean to pay tribute to the deceased, and Mneme, that means memory.

The collection is called as such attributing to the short time memory gets to be remembered and thus relived in the physical reality, Indicating that memory is an entity that leaves the physical world. When this conceptual death happens, it is only remembered as time that passed.

It’s not mourning lost memories but commemorating each moment that can be remembered. Moirologies to help the memories pass to their afterlife once they’ve been remembered

Alongside the audiovisual work there’s a catalogue with the full texts and visual works of the collection
