Ｗｅｌｌ，ｃｏｍｅ
This is a participatory project that emulates an exaggerated process and space where tourism, souvenirship and exoticism are narrated.
Two at a time, participants are invited into a bouncy castle with a glass of wine to bounce around and ‘drink’ their drink. The castle is accompanied by a soundtrack that guides 1-2 minutes of enjoyment as well as an addition of various soft white sculptures; the inspiration from which comes from souvenir imagery collected in my research. The sculptures are, of course, designed to be stained. The participants are then asked to leave the bouncy castle and purchase a postcard if they wish. The postcards hope to reveal more of the ‘shame’ they should be feeling after their fun time.
