2D/3D animated short film that serves satire on today’s global indifference through a metaphorical lavish dinner setting.
Written & directed by Oleksandra Davydenko & Leja Kancerevyciute, in collaboration with lead animator Nilsu Mengi
The luxurious setting of ‘Fathoming Dinner’ features a family of four—Narcissa, Gulliver, Ivan, and Kuma—whose dinner turns into a wild battlefield. Rather than addressing the profound issues connected to their meals, they dive into a hilarious feud about plastic surgery and cheating rumors. Unaware and self-absorbed, these characters elevate the food fight to a self-inflicted doom, with their dog, Whatevra, seizing the opportunity to have a feast of her own. Brace yourself for a dark satire that serves as a poignant commentary on current society’s inclination to quarrel about insignificant matters, all the while neglecting the weightier issues at hand and nourishing its growing indifference.
