PROYECTO MEXÍCANO DE LA CREACIÓN DEL SER – Mexican Project For The Creation Of Oneself
Este proyecto tiene la humilde pretensión de querer hablar de lo que hay adentro, la memoria, el bagaje personal, lo pasado, tratando lo particular como general.
Como si la historia de uno fuese de muchos. Es mi historia y a la vez la historia de un México postcolonial, clasista, racista y nacionalista. La búsqueda de mi ser mexicano y el desear algo ajeno a ello.
This project has the humble pretention to take the space and talk about what’s inside, the memory, the personal baggage, the past, taking the individual as general. As if one’s history became of many. This is mine and Mexican history at the same time, story of a Mexican State, postcolonial, classist, racist and nationalist. It is the search for my being Mexican and the hope for something different from it.

Nací en tierra ajena a mi madre,
de su vientre llegue para dudar,
y a su tierra regresé para entender.
A esa tierra le hice preguntas,
susurrándole al oído
la tormenta que sobreviví para llegar a ella,
y me contó de como ella ya sabía de mí,
desde que mi padre llegó
para bautizarla con la sangre de esa fe
que hizo del mestizo clase alta
y de esa tierra nación unida bajo la
apropiación cultural.
I was born in land unknown to my mother,
From her I came to doubt,
and to her land I went back to understand.
To that land I asked questions,
Whispering to her ear the storm I had to survive to get there,
and she told me she already knew about me,
since my dad arrived to baptize her
With that holy blood that made the mestizo high class,
and that land a nation unified through
cultural appropriation.
